UCHS is now accepting Media & Private Photography applications for the 172nd Upperville Colt & Horse Show (UCHS) June 2-8, 2025. Please find applications and details below.
Media Credentials
Thank you for your interest in obtaining a UCHS Media Credential for the 2025 Upperville Colt & Horse Show (June 2-8).
Credential Overview
To be eligible for a press credential, you must meet the following criteria:
- Be affiliated with or assigned to a recognized publication, news service, website, radio station, or television network, or apply as freelance press.
- Submit a letter of assignment or an email from your assigning editor or publisher requesting press credentials, or apply as freelance press.
- Alternatively, freelance press photographers/videographers (without a media assignment) are required to provide UCHS with six (6) of their best photos . See additional requirements & details below
*Editors assigning multiple photographers should designate one as the primary photographer.
Press credentials must be requested via the form below. Those approved will be contacted by the media office.
Media Credential Rules
- Credentialed press/media personnel are allowed inside the arena only during awards presentations and must be escorted by a Press Officer.
- Approved Media must abide by the following rules:
- Photos/videos under this agreement will only be offered to the media, and will not be sold to the public.
- The use of flash attachments is not permitted on horse paths, in competition and stabling areas, or during competition.
Terms and Conditions
- By applying for the Media Credential, you agree to comply with all rules and regulations. Failure to adhere to these rules may result in the revocation of your credential.
- Credentials are limited and subject to UCHS management approval.
- Credentialed media will have access to the Media Center.
- Credentialed media must sign a Press Credential General Form and Release of Liability
Freelance Press Additional information
- Freelance press (without an assignment) are required to provide UCHS with Six (6) Digital, high-resolution images within one week of the end of the show to [email protected]. These images will become part of the UCHS Marketing library, for use on marketing and press material with photo credit given to submitting photographer/videographer. Failure to provide images will affect future acceptance for UCHS credentials.
- Freelance photographers/videographers agree by submitting this application that their photos/videos taken under this agreement will only be offered to the media, and will not be sold to the public.

Once your application is submitted, it will be reviewed by UCHS. You will be contacted regarding approval. Proof of Insurance can be emailed to [email protected] or UCHS PO Box 239 Upperville, VA 20185.

Private Photographer Credentials
Thank you for your interest in obtaining a UCHS Private Photographer Credential for the 2025 Upperville Colt & Horse Show (June 2-8).
Credential Overview
UCHS requires private photographers to obtain a Private Photographer Credential if they intend to give or sell photos to exhibitors or competitors.
- Private Photographer credentials will be issued on a first-come, first-served basis, based on the time and date of application submission. A waitlist will be maintained in case of cancellations.
- Credential Fee: $1,000 per photographer for the week (June 2-8, 2025). Assistant photographers must also submit an application.
- Insurance Requirement: All photographers must provide a certificate of liability insurance listing Upperville Colt & Horse Show 8321 John S Mosby Hwy, Upperville, VA 20184 as an additional insured.
- Liability Waiver: All photographers must sign a Press Credential General Form and Release of Liability on the Media Center page and email completed waiver to [email protected].
Official Photographer Information
The UCHS Official Photographers (Teresa Ramsey, Erin Gilmore, and KMK Photography) have:
- Priority positioning outside the arenas.
- Exclusive access inside the arenas.
Private Photographer Rules
- Private Photographers are not permitted inside arenas.
- Approved Private Photographers must abide by the following:
- Client lists must be provided to the Press Manager at Credential pick up.
- Credential must be visible when shooting photos or videos
- Private Photographers may not solicit new clients after the start of competition for this horse show.
- Photos may only be offered to clients and may not be sold individually in person or via a website outside the client list.
- The use of flash attachments is not permitted on horse paths, in competition and stabling areas, or during competition.
Terms and Conditions
- By applying for the Private Photographer Credential, you agree to comply with all rules and regulations. Failure to adhere to these rules may result in the revocation of your credential without refund.
- Credentials are limited and subject to UCHS management approval.
- Private Photographers will not have access to the Media Center unless they also hold a media credential.
Application Process
Once your application is submitted, it will be reviewed by UCHS. You will be emailed regarding acceptance. If accepted an invoice will be sent via Paypal using the email listed on application. Proof of insurance may be emailed to [email protected] or UCHS PO Box 239 Upperville, VA 20185.

Television & Radio
(No television or radio transmission will be allowed on show days without prior permission of the UCHS Chairman or Press Manager. Such Permission must be obtained prior by contacting UCHS PR Manager: Vicki Bendure at [email protected] or (202)-374-9259.
